About the Role

Friends Group Logistics is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver in Schumacher, Ontario. This full-time position offers flexible hours, with options for day and weekend shifts. This opportunity is open to international candidates.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport various goods and materials. Key duties include planning and adjusting routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to optimize fuel consumption and minimize emissions. You will also perform emergency roadside repairs, conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance. Accurate record-keeping of cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption is also required.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a secondary (high) school graduation certificate. While experience is considered an asset, it is not strictly required. Proficiency in English is required for this position. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent written communication skills, flexibility, sound judgement, strong organizational abilities, and a collaborative team player attitude.
