About the Opportunity

Whitehorse Physiotherapy is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to join their team in Whitehorse, Yukon. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse settings including sports therapy, orthopedics, acute care therapy, manipulative therapy, and private practice, with a willingness to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assess patients' physical abilities, conduct examinations, and plan comprehensive physiotherapy programs. This involves selecting appropriate exercises, apparatus, and manipulations tailored to individual needs. You will also maintain clinical and progress reports, confer with other health professionals, and teach or supervise patient exercises. Administering evaluative tests and procedures is a key part of the role, alongside supervising technical and support staff.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities and successful completion of the Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulatory Boards Examination are required. Experience is considered an asset for this position. The role demands strong personal suitability traits including punctuality, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, and sound judgement. Physical capabilities required include hand-eye co-ordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve working under pressure, requiring attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between colours.
