About the Role
QCS is seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide to join their team in Smiths Falls, Ontario. This essential role involves providing direct patient care and support within a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Key duties include assisting patients with daily needs such as supplying and emptying bed pans, taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and serving meal trays while providing feeding assistance. Nurse Aides will also be responsible for weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning patients, making beds, and maintaining the cleanliness of patient rooms. Additional tasks involve managing supply inventory, bathing, dressing, and grooming patients, safely transporting patients between facilities or using wheelchairs and stretchers, and responding to call signals. Preparing patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas is also part of the role.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of one to two years. A minimum of one year to less than two years of relevant experience is required. This position demands a physically capable individual able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with attention to detail, including standing for extended periods, walking, and performing tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling. Essential personal suitability traits include client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organization, reliability, and a strong team player attitude. The language requirement for this role is English.
