About the Role
Fort McMurray Insulation Ltd. is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Insulator to join their team in Gregoire Lake Estates, Alberta. This full-time position involves working in a construction setting, contributing to various insulation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements. The successful candidate will select the appropriate type of insulation and instruct apprentices. Duties also involve measuring and cutting insulating materials to required shapes and dimensions using hand and power tools. Insulators will apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation methods. Fitting insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs is also a key task. This role may also involve removing asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead, mould, and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings.
Qualifications & Work Environment
Candidates must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and two to less than three years of experience in the field. The work environment is noisy and physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling. Manual dexterity is essential. Employment terms may include morning, day, evening, night, and weekend shifts, with overtime often required and available.
