Responsibilities
Tasks
· Post room and tax
· Perform food and beverage audit if required
· Reconcile postings, charges, and cash for the day
· Balance all summaries to main computer system
· Balance all cashiers’ postings for the day
· Post any incidental charges required
· Prepare all required daily and summary reports
· Perform back up of computer system
· Ensure security of the hotel property and guests
· Resolve guest complaints and assist the General Manager in resolving employee conflicts.
· Provide courteous and professional guest services when required
· Utilize instinctive selling techniques and company sales programs to maximize revenue and occupancy levels
· Maintain order and cleanliness at the front desk, lobby, and office areas daily
· Operate the telephone console
· Process reservation and cancellation requests when required
· Report all system problems to management
· Balance all POS machine summaries to the main computer
· Allocate responsibilities to Night Auditors
· Train staff in night audit and GSA duties
· Review team members’ work for accuracy and compliance
· Complete necessary checklists (including cleaning and maintenance) as required
· Print and prepare reports for Housekeeping and Front Desk
· Restock Front Desk supplies and notify the General Manager when inventory gets low
· Recognize trends regarding room revenue
· Assist the General Manager with scheduling of Guest Service Agents
· Monitor Guest Service Agent shift duties, ensuring tasks are completed, delegates additional tasks and provides direction as necessary
· Assist with team member orientation, onboarding and training of Guest Service Agents
· Identifies training needs, assists in developing formal training plans & how-to’s and implements training sessions
· Maintain a consistently high standard of guest services/relations including monitoring and responding to online reviews
· Perform inspections of the property’s exterior, ensuring it is always clean, orderly and well kept
· May be required to be actively involved in hotel committees such as sustainability, social committee, and the health & safety committee
· Is flexible to cover last-minute shifts as needed
· Maintain the highest level of communication with all other departments to ensure that all staff are aware of arrivals, departures, and maintenance issues
· Assist the General Manager with conducting staff meetings.
· Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and supervision to direct reports effectively allocating assignments across the Guest Services teams.
· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments;
· Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager
