This opportunity is for a dedicated Home Child Care Provider in Burnaby, British Columbia. The position involves working in the employer's home. Optional accommodation is available at no charge on a live-in basis, though this is not a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Key duties include supervising and caring for children, instructing them in personal hygiene and social development, and organizing engaging activities such as games and outings. You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals, as well as taking children to and from school and appointments, and assisting with homework. Additionally, you will discipline children according to parental methods, maintain a safe and healthy home environment, and tend to their emotional well-being. The role also involves performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shopping for food and household supplies, and assuming full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents. Travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping, is also part of the role.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. A minimum of one month to less than seven months of experience in this field is required. A criminal record check is a mandatory security and safety requirement. The role involves repetitive tasks and the ability to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Personal suitability attributes include client focus, flexibility, sound judgement, and reliability.
