Responsibilities

This role involves planning and adjusting routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Drivers are responsible for professional customer service, loading and unloading goods, and operating straight or articulated trucks for transporting materials. Key duties include comprehensive vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, communication with dispatch, and accurate record-keeping of cargo, hours, distance, and fuel. The position requires handling dangerous goods and familiarity with various documentation, liquid bulk trucking, tractor-trailer B train equipment, CB radio, and GPS systems.

Requirements

Candidates are not required to have a degree, certificate, or diploma, and prior experience is considered an asset. Essential requirements include a valid driver's licence and the ability to pass security checks such as a basic security clearance, criminal record check, driver's licence validity check, driving record check, drug test, and medical exam. The role involves long-haul, national, and provincial/territorial travel. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Successful applicants will demonstrate good judgement and reliability.
