MCDONALDS in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a dedicated Food Service Counter Attendant. This opportunity is situated in a rural area and requires a willingness to relocate for successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties include cleaning and sanitising various items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units. You will clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, and operate dishwashers for dishes, glassware, and flatware. Other tasks involve placing dishes in storage, replenishing condiments, sanitising items by hand, and scouring pots and pans. You will also manage food-related tasks like keeping records of food used, packaging take-out, portioning and wrapping foods, and preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items. Stocking refrigerators and salad bars, taking customer orders, and using manual and electrical appliances for food preparation are also part of the role. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitising the kitchen, handling and storing cleaning products, receiving and storing supplies, removing kitchen garbage, sharpening knives, and maintaining floor cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing. Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit are also required.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. While prior experience is not required as training will be provided, a Food Safety Certificate is necessary. Familiarity with equipment such as deep fryers, electronic cash registers, food dispensers, and grills is beneficial. The role requires handling heavy loads up to 9 kg (20 lbs), physically demanding work, repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment. Successful applicants will demonstrate client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, teamwork, the ability to multitask, initiative, dependability, and a positive attitude. A criminal record check is a security requirement. Proficiency in English is required.
