About the Role

Sunup Drywall Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time position offers various shifts including day shifts, with opportunities for overtime.

Successful candidates will work in both commercial and residential settings across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing drywall sheets, ensuring they are securely positioned on metal or wooden studs or joists.

You will apply successive coats of joint compound, filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using a trowel and broad knife.

Taping over joints with a taping machine, embedding tape in compound, smoothing excess compound, and allowing coats to dry are also essential tasks.

Additionally, you will cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and sand seams and joints for a smooth finish.

Requirements

Applicants must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

A minimum of one year to less than two years of experience as a drywall installer is required.

The role involves handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and is physically demanding, requiring repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Work environments can be at heights, dusty, and noisy.
