About the Role

Itrade Alberta Ltd. is seeking a Construction Labourer for projects in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role involves working in various settings including remote locations, logging sites, factories, and plants, with a specialization in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction. The work environment can be outdoors, at heights, noisy, dusty, and hot. This is a green job, contributing to positive environmental outcomes. Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, along with performing pre-operational inspections. The labourer will also clean and pile salvaged materials, perform routine maintenance work, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Removing rubble and other debris from construction sites and directing traffic at or near these sites are also part of the duties.

Requirements

Candidates should have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, along with one to less than two years of experience. Required certifications include Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) and OSSA basic safety orientation (BSO), Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, Confined Space Entry Training, Forklift Operator Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Working at heights training, and CPR Certificate. Experience with equipment such as Bobcats, concrete saws, grinding machines, chippers, nail guns, drills, torches, chain saws, compactors, forklifts, sandblasters, and hand tools is essential. The role demands physical capabilities such as working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment under pressure with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs), manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and sitting. Personal suitability traits include client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, being a team player, and hardworking. Security and safety checks, including a criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test, are required. Candidates must also own steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, a uniform, ear plugs, a safety vest, and rain gear.
