About the Role
This is a full-time café manager position with Atriani in Toronto, Ontario. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring profitability, and supervising a small team. Employment terms include day and weekend shifts. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve working under pressure, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, requiring attention to detail, and standing for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will analyse budgets to boost and maintain the restaurant's profits. They will evaluate daily operations and modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget. Responsibilities include monitoring staff performance, planning and organizing daily operations, recruiting staff, and setting staff work schedules. The manager will supervise 1 to 2 people, determine the type of services to be offered, and implement operational procedures. They will balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms, as well as organize and maintain inventory. Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed is crucial. The role also involves negotiating arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, negotiating with clients for catering or use of facilities, and addressing customers' complaints or concerns while providing excellent customer service. Overall, the manager will plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role is required. Proficiency with computer and technology knowledge including MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Windows, and point of sale systems is essential. Personal suitability traits include accuracy, client focus, dependability, flexibility, being organized, reliability, being a team player, and the ability to multitask. While an own vehicle is an asset, public transportation is available.
