About the Role

Salumeria il Tagliere Ltd. in Caledon East, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Butcher. This role involves working in a meat processing and/or packing plant establishment, and also with wholesalers, contributing to the preparation and sale of various meat products.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning meats, cutting carcasses, sides, and quarters, and preparing standard cuts of meat. Other duties include wrapping and packaging prepared meats, removing bones, weighing products for sale, and cutting poultry into parts. Pricing meat products, selling to customers, grinding meats, and making special sausages are also part of the role. You will also shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood, and prepare special orders for clients.

Requirements

Applicants must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. A minimum of one year to less than two years of experience is required. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve working under pressure, standing for extended periods, and requires attention to detail and hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability traits include client focus, dependability, flexibility, good judgement, being organised, reliability, and being a team player. The language requirement for this position is English.
